Contego

THE CHALLENGE: Contego, previously known as Sussex Safetywear, supply an extensive range of safety clothing and equipment. After acquiring another company in the same field they decided it was the right time to rebrand and asked us to develop a new visual identity that was bold, memorable and fresh whilst retaining a connection with the brand value and recognition that had been built up over the past 15 years.

THE OUTCOME: Following extensive research, “Contego”, a Latin word meaning “shield”, was selected as the new company name. This also provided inspiration for the new strapline, “Cover, Shield, Protect”. Having developed a custom logotype using condensed letterforms to create an attractive visual flow, we presented design concepts for various items including business stationery, a catalogue cover and website visuals.
